Staff at Abacus ALS breathe easy while at work


Abacus ALS in East Brisbane recently provided their staff with training in asthma management and first aid as part of Asthma Foundation Queensland’s Live Well with Asthma workplace training program.

The new ‘asthma friendly’ workplace, which is dedicated providing quality in vitro diagnostic and research products to laboratories across Australia and New Zealand, took part in the one hour workshop in order to be able to help colleagues, customers and volunteers manage an asthma emergency if required.

Abacus ALS continues to support Phadia in Australia and New Zealand

Brisbane, August 25th 2011, Abacus ALS announced today that it's business as usual for Abacus and the Phadia business in Australia and New Zealand. This announcement comes in response to the report from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc (Thermo) today that it completed its previously announced acquisition of Phadia. All existing customer contracts will be honoured and customer should continue to work with Abacus ALS in relation to any Phadia commercial or technical matters.

Abacus ALS and Cardinal Bioresearch sign agreement to strengthen collaboration

Brisbane, August 25th 2011, Abacus ALS (Abacus) announced to day that is had signed a memorandum of understanding with Cardinal Bioresearch (Cardinal) to explore synergies in the area of contract research testing using the Luminex xMap® technology platform. Under terms of the agreement, Abacus will act as sales agents for Cardinal and cardinal will relocate its testing laboratory to the Abacus facility in Manilla Street, East Brisbane.

 Abacus ALS wins Telstra Queensland Business of the Year Award!

 

A large group of staff from Abacus ALS (below) attended the Awards Dinner and were ecstatic to not only win in the Panansonic Medium Business Category - but also to be named the overall winner of the prestigious 2010 Telstra Qld Business of the Year Award.

The Judges said "Abacus ALS is a great business demonstrating excellence across all its core functions with clear strategies for achievement and a culture of strong and passionate employee engagement. It is growing ahead of its rivals in an environment and industry of substantial competitiveness and focus on procurement-driven decisions."*
